Highland Camerata

The Highland Camerata is a 26 year-old, non-profit regional chorus. It’s purpose is to provide a musical outlet for the members as well as to provide the community musical education and entertainment through the medium of live performance.

The organization is incorporated in Virginia, but has members from both Virginia and North Carolina. It’s home is the Brush Creek Hall, two miles South of Independence and one mile north of the North Carolina-Virginia border on US 21.

Performances, currently held at Brush Creek Hall and the Galax Presbyterian Church, are free of charge. There are two concerts per year (3 performances each): Spring and Winter, plus occasional concerts for schools and rest homes.

Rehearsals are underway for the spring concert. Read more about our plans.

Sponsorship
The Highland Camerata’s annual budget is nearly $7,000 – more than member’s annual dues can possibly cover. The budget includes rent and maintenance of the rehearsal and performance space – the Brush Creek Hall; honorariums for the director and accompanist, purchase of sheet music; and publicity for our concerts.

To help defray costs, the Camerata conducts a Fall fundraising drive. Levels of sponsorship are as follows:

Benefactor $300 +
Patron $250-299
Contributor $200-249
Sponsor $100-199
Donor $50-99
Friend $25-49
