New River Shrine Club
The New River Shrine Club represents a brotherhood of men whose primary purpose
is the financial support of the 22 Shriners' Hospitals in North America. These
hospitals provide expert orthopedic, spinal cord injury and burn care to
children under age 18. There is NO COST to children because the Shrine
brotherhood made a committment in 1922 to provide operating funds for the
hospitals.
Hospitals at the end of 2001 had an active patient roster of 192,604 children. Shriners Hospitals approved a record-breaking budget for 2002--over $1.6 million A DAY to provide medical care for children. The New River Shriners raise support money through personal contributions, Shriners Paper Sales, activity sponsorships and an annual car show held on the last Saturday of July each year. All money collected is given to support the Hospitals. Smart Money magazine lists Shriners Hospitals #1 in the health care industry in use of donations. All donations are totally deductible.
