The Sparta Revitalization Committee (SRC) is a volunteer organization, and operates under 501(c)3 certification. Its mission is the preservation, protection, and planned use of Sparta’s main street area including the civic, commercial, and religious enterprises and their physical structures.

The Sparta Revitalization Committee is governed by a Board of Directors, and implements its goals through subcommittees working within the guidelines of the North Carolina Main Street program. These subcommittees and current (2003) chairs are as follows:

The committee meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce conference room, 58 South Main St., Sparta. The public is welcome, and interested individuals are encouraged to consider becoming a member of the Sparta Revitalization Committee.
