Volunteer Center
The Alleghany County Volunteer Center helps aid the agencies, organizations and citizens in the county with their need for volunteer services.The Volunteer Center maintains a list of volunteer needs, programs and short- and long-term volunteer opportunities. The Volunteer Center encourages intergenerational participation. The Volunteer Center is located on the second floor the Community Building which also houses the Alleghany Senior Center (first floor) and operates Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Please note that because of the small staff, office hours vary.) Join the Volunteer Center and "team" with the Alleghany Senior Education Corps, Alleghany's Promise Team, American Red Cross, "Critters for Comfort," Senior Corps, and Vials of Life to help "make a difference" in Alleghany County.
